    Abstract
More and more firms are recognizing the importance of improving environmental and social performances while meeting business performance targets. Extending sustainable performance along the supply chain and establish sustainable supply chains are also gaining increasing attention from researchers and practitioners. Based on the theories of knowledge-based view, triple bottom line, natural resource-based view, and corporate social performance, this paper made an early attempt to explore the role knowledge management can play in building sustainable supply chains of firms. This paper developed propositions depicting the relationship between knowledge management processes, firm’s sustainable supply chain management strategies and operations, and the sustainable competitive advantage. Opinions of academic experts in relevant areas were collected by a survey instrument which provided initial support to the validity of the propositions.
